Sweta suffered years of abuse at home and then the loss of her mother. Desperate for a better life, she befriended a stranger online who promised her escape. He told Sweta, “You’ll have a better chance of survival in India than Nepal.” She thought this was her way out, but thankfully, one of LIFE’s mission partners spoke with her before it was too late.
Our mission partners warned her, “Many girls like you go over only to disappear.” After Sweta told them about her terrible background, they said, “We have a place here where you can stay and receive help for your future.”
For someone who has experienced the worst life can offer, those words brought great joy to Sweta.
Today, thanks to friends like you, she is living a new life of hope, getting training in job skills and learning about the One who loves her most—Jesus Christ!
