For Freedom’s Sake

By James Robison Words of Life
President Trump posthumously awarded Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom last week—on October 14, which would have been the freedom fighter’s 32nd birthday. Erika Kirk accepted the award on her late husband’s behalf. In her closing remarks, she said, “To live free is the greatest gift, but to die…

Songs in the Night

By Nicole C. Mullen Words of Life
I grew up in a family of singers and musicians. I was raised listening to both Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) and Black Gospel…on the same radio station (our town was one of the few that played both styles on the same station, which seems providential). They both influenced my musical…

Free To Be Me

By Betty Robison Words of Life
I have asked God many times to help me hear, see and be more mindful of people around me. So often in the past, I missed an opportunity to pray with someone or speak encouragement when I saw a need. I had let time, inconvenience and the fear of failure…

Let Go

Faith, Sunlight and Serving. Hope and Health in Jesus’ Name

I’ve had the privilege of stepping into some of the most sacred spaces around the world – places where suffering runs deep but God’s love runs deeper still. Whether I’m sitting under the scorching sun in Africa or the blazing sun in Southeast Asia, I’m reminded again and again of the power of presence – of showing up, listening well and offering hope in Jesus’ name.

In Ethiopia, I spent time with families and children whose lives have been marked by hunger and hardship. I listened to their stories and saw the resilience in their eyes. My heart was stirred once again to help raise awareness and support for Mission Feeding so more children across Africa can receive lifesaving nourishment and the hope found in Christ.

Later, in Southeast Asia, I met with children who had been rescued from the horrors of human trafficking. We played together outside in the heat and intense sunlight. Surrounded by both beauty and brokenness, I heard what they had walked through and watched God begin to restore what had been stolen. It was an unforgettable honor to stand beside them, pray over them and remind them they are deeply loved and never forgotten by God.

And while I’m incredibly grateful to travel for missions, I have also learned the importance of taking care of my own health so I can continue to do the work God’s called me to.

The intense sun in many of these places can be dangerous. Over the years, I’ve had four skin cancer spots removed from my head, face and neck. I now see my dermatologist every four months to stay on top of it.

That’s why I was thrilled when Wellness Wednesdays launched on LIFE TODAY! Each week, we spotlight meaningful conversations around physical, emotional and spiritual health, bringing in experts who offer wisdom, encouragement and practical help. Whether you’re facing a diagnosis, dealing with stress or anxiety or just trying to make healthier choices, these shows are designed to meet you right where you are.

Our health matters – not just for us but for the lives God wants us to live, whether at home or abroad. So, if you haven’t already, I hope you will tune in. Watch us daily and don’t miss Wellness Wednesdays! There’s something special waiting for you, because your health and your heart matter to us.
