Biography
Dr. Evans served as the senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship for over 40 years, witnessing its growth from ten people in 1976 to now over 10,000 congregants with over 100 ministries.
Dr. Tony Evans is president of The Urban Alternative, a national ministry dedicated to restoring hope and transforming lives through the proclamation and application of God’s Word. He is the author of more than 150 books, booklets, and Bible studies and founded the Tony Evans Training Center, an online platform providing accessible, seminary-style biblical education.
The first African American to earn a doctoral degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, Dr. Evans later served on its pastoral ministries faculty and continues to serve on its Board of Incorporate Members. He is currently serving as chaplain of the Dallas Cowboys and, for more than three decades, as chaplain of the Dallas Mavericks—the longest-standing NBA chaplaincy on record—and his ministry gained national prominence following his invitation to preach at the National Religious Broadcasters convention in 1986.
