Biography
Dr. Blake is the founder of Save Africa’s Children and senior pastor of West Angeles Church of God in Christ, in Los Angeles, California. He felt called to ministry at a young age and seeks to minister to the “whole man” —the spirit, mind and body of people. He brought that passion to the 50-member church in 1969. During his 30 years in the pulpit, West Angeles has grown into one of the largest churches in the western United States with over 18,000 active members.
Save Africa’s Children was established to address the issue of African children who are victims of the AIDS pandemic in Africa. Currently there are 14 million children in Africa that have been orphaned by AIDS. More than 1 million children are HIV/AIDS positive and the number is growing. It is likely that there will be 40 million AIDS orphans in Africa by 2010.
