Biography
A preacher’s son from a poor background, the Hobby Lobby founder and CEO opened his first crafts shop in 1970 with a $600 loan. Hobby Lobby is expanding to east and west coasts and hopes to open its 720th store by year-end. His company won a 2014 Supreme Court case that exempted “closely held” companies with strong religious beliefs from an Affordable Care Act provision that mandates access to the morning-after pill. Green plans to open a Museum of the Bible in November 2017 in Washington, D.C.
