Love Needs Action and Compels You to Do Something

Elizabeth, one of the staff members of our Mission:RescueLIFE partners in Southeast Asia, was a teenager when she first heard about human trafficking and was heartbroken. Deep in her heart she felt compelled to take action and do something about it. She explained, “One of the core values we have at the outreach is that few on earth will ever know these girls, but they matter to me and to God.”

The ministry operates in very poor communities where families are struggling, some because of medical issues, bills and lack of employment. Life is very difficult, and it is not safe for girls and children to stay within their communities. They can be preyed upon by traffickers, who often take girls for work in brothels.

The girls need a safe place, and that’s what LIFE Outreach helps provide. The goal for every girl is to have a normal, thriving life, and for some, this can take months or even years.

In the meantime, the girls’ basic needs for food, education, counseling and help with education are provided for. Older girls can choose a vocation and pursue specialized training before leaving the Safe House. Elizabeth’s final comment is a call to action to us all:

“Young girls and young women can be brought out of trafficking because of intercession. In the fight to free girls and help restore lives to dignity and to share the love of God, I can’t stress too much the importance of prayer.”
