The fight for life and longing for clean water

Both Betty and I are praying you hear our hearts on behalf of families in desperate need of clean water. Water for LIFE is such a critical outreach because there IS no life without water. CLEAN water!
Comfort, a mother in Liberia, certainly understands that. She has at least five boreholes in her village from which to draw water, but every one of them is a murky color, unclean and bacteria infested. Her “well” is a source of death, not life; it’s a tragedy she has witnessed many times in her village.
All of Comfort’s children suffer often from stomach pain and diarrhea due to this water. Four were sick when our mission team arrived, and she told our team,
“When someone gets sick, it’s very difficult to get them to a hospital. The closest medical help is 1.5 hours away by foot. Even if they give us medicine, we come back to the village and drink this same water.”
She repeated a plea Betty and I have heard so many times in these situations: “Please tell your friends who can help. Please help us have good water so we can survive.”
I can never forget scenes of horrible, infested water I watched mothers have to give to their children. It breaks my heart because I know that among many families there will be death – of children or parents.
The answer is CLEAN water, and because of friends of LIFE, Water for LIFE’s mobile drill teams will be ready to go.
