The Life-Changing Results LIFE’s Friends Made Possible!

Denis Longoben grew up near the village of Boma, South Sudan. It’s a remote area in the eastern part of the country, near the border with Ethiopia. Food is scarce, and if there is a drought, flood or other condition impacting crops, the situation quickly becomes dire.

Through Mission Feeding, Denis was assured as a child of at least one meal a day by attending school. Through the Water for LIFE program, he also had clean drinking water. Five years of stability allowed him to learn, grow and complete school. This hope allowed him to dream of a future, and he eventually became a nurse, specializing in community nutrition.

I met Denis in another village in South Sudan last year. He’s 28 years old now, and he works for our mission partners in Africa, screening malnourished children and counseling mothers. He also helps them with basic hygiene practices and personal gardening. He was blessed, and now he’s blessing others.

LIFE’s friends and supporters made a difference in Denis’ life. Now he’s making a difference in the lives of countless others. This is how real change occurs. It is generational and takes commitment.
